Facts About Rain

Rain falls down

Breaks into little tiny pieces
To small to see from far away.

Ground so wet it makes puddles.
When Rain falls it makes little wrinkled circles in the puddles.

Rain will fall on to the grass and make it soggy.
When feet touch grass the grass feels scwishy.

Where the pen touches the paper,
Where eyes meet
With shadows and light,
Where the crow's caw
Penetrates and pervades,
Seeing without eyes - the unseen
Where i end,
An open ended question,
Becoming
A never-ending answer,
There are no such things.

Riches

Walking through the mountain pass,
Pearls of snow crunch underfoot.

Moving down the slope,
The sapphire lake comes into view.

Striding to the shore,
Golden sand sifts through toes.

Prostrating along the edge,
Crystal water quenches thirst.

Approaching the destination –
An emerald bay with an island hut.

Give up this simple wayfarer’s life?
No thank you – I couldn’t afford to.

Winter Storm

Naked alders dance in the wind
Like tall grass, in a gentle breeze.

Maybe when the dance is over
I'll find more wood to feed my stove.

Warm until then, my little hut -
A cozy anthill in the grass.
